Mission BBQ honors Vietnam veterans on National Vietnam War Veterans Day

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Friday, March 29 is National Vietnam War Veterans Day, and Mission BBQ in Bowling Green honored these veterans with a free meal. Veterans from different branches and wars gathered together to honor each other and remember times of service to our country.

Today marks 51 years since the last U.S. combat troops departed Vietnam and returned to the United States.

Retired Lt. Col. and Vietnam War veteran Ronald Moss says, “It’s very meaningful for me. There are a lot of bad things you don’t want to remember about Vietnam, but there’s a lot of good things that happened at Vietnam, and being recognized as being a veteran means a whole lot to me personally, and a lot of other veterans.”

Today recognizes the nine million U.S. Armed Forces during the Vietnam War period. If you know someone who is a Vietnam Veteran, be sure to thank them for their service today.
