Logan County Dog “Lady” defies all odds against her
LOGAN COUNTY, Ky.- A Logan County dog, named “Lady” was discovered by the Logan County Humane Society with her jaw in a terrible condition. After her owner passed away, many people had doubts about her recovery.
The President of the Logan County Humane Society, Julie Martin says, “From that first day, she just reached out through the cage and just wanted to be touched. She asked for help right from that first moment.”
Lady went to stay with a foster family, and they noticed that the dog was still in pain and experiencing discomfort. Martin also told us, “The hope was that the jaw would heal and she would be fine. She would just have to wear that muzzle for about six weeks, just like any other broken bone. We went back to the vet and they did a full set of X-rays and found out that not only were there some broken teeth but there was a bullet up in Lady’s sinus cavity. “
Recovering from the bullet found in her nose was not the only thing that the local dog, Lady, had to worry about; she also had four puppies and a brother that she was separated from. Lady was all alone with wounds no one knew about until the humane society stepped in.
“When she was shot, she had fresh puppies, which is quite sad. Luckily, all of the puppies that we had delivered to us are happy and healthy and at their forever homes. So there’s a lot of good that came out of it, but it was quite scary for a little bit.”
Lady is still recovering, but she is way better than before, and defying every odd placed before her. Believe it or not, there are more dogs like Lady that need support. You can help dogs like Lady by visiting https://www.adoptlcpets.com/get-involved/foster https://www.adoptlcpets.com/get-involved/fundraiser
