Stockdale’s pet costume contest to benefit Logan County Humane Society

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- A pet costume contest at Bowling Green’s Stockdale’s store will benefit several animal rescue organizations in Tennessee and Kentucky, including the Logan County Humane Society.

The contest is scheduled at the store at 3040 Ken Bale Blvd. from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday.

Every pet that is brought in wearing a costume will be photographed and receive a mystery goodie bag.

The photographs will then be posted on Facebook.

Every “Like” received for a photo will result in an animal shelter in that community receiving 1lb of pet food, up to a total of 2,000lbs. The more votes, the more food for homeless animals.

Votes will be accepted from 11 a.m. on Monday, October 28 through midnight on Wednesday, October 30. Winners and amount of food donated to area shelters will be announced on Halloween.

Additionally, the owner of the pet photo with the most combined votes will receive a $250 Stockdale’s gift card and the top vote-getter from each location will receive a $50 gift card.

Other participating shelters include:

Friends of Fayette County Animal Control & Shelter, Somerville, Tenn.
Tipton County Animal Shelter, Brighton, Tenn.
