Bomb threat at Hart County High School cleared by KSP and the Hart County Sheriff’s Office

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- A bomb threat was made to Hart County High School on Friday afternoon, where the Kentucky State Police and Hart County Sheriff’s office investigated the scene.

Emergency procedures were taken, and all students and staff were evacuated and transported to Munfordville Elementary School for safety. Law enforcement performed a walk-through with two K-9s, and no explosives were found. The threat has been lifted and the school is back to standard operations.

Public information officer for Kentucky State Police, trooper Katan Parker, says “If you’re a kid and you hear someone talking about it, it’s not a joke. You don’t know if they’re going to do it or not. Sometimes you might think your friend is joking about something and he might actually be serious, so if you hear anything, we just ask you to report it.”

The Kentucky Center for School Safety has a tip line to report bullying, abuse, threats, or anything else at school that may be bothering you or your child. The S.T.O.P tip line runs 24-7, and that number is 866-393-6659.
