Bowling Green’s UK College of Medicine campus celebrates one year anniversary

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Bowling Green’s University of Kentucky College of Medicine campus is celebrating its first year of operations.

The Bowling Green location was UK’s first four-year regional campus to open and operate outside of Lexington.

Those in attendance at the celebration Wednesday night were given a tour of the facilities.

More than 70 percent of the 30 students in the inaugural class were from Kentucky.

As UK President Eli Capilouto explained at the event, it’s important to keep students in the state so after graduation, they can take what they learned to other under-served areas.
