Cage the Elephant announces new album & tour

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A widely known band who got their start in Bowling Green is returning to the spotlight just one year after their lead singer was arrested in New York.

Cage the Elephant is putting out a new album on May 17th called “Neon Pill.” The lead single and another song titled “Out Loud” are both out now on all streaming services, and the band just announced a tour starting on the west coast this summer.

“Cage the Elephant has always spawned creativity in this area. They’ve had different music groups, different art stuff.  We did a video for Come a Little Closer here at the bar. Actually, Jarvis hooked it all up here. We were able to do, I think it was the first live presentation of their album Mellow Phobia back in 2013 was done here at this bar. So it’s always neat, of course, Bowling Green’s known for the Corvette. But the second thing I think that we’re known for, and maybe the first is Cage the Elephant. So it’s neat to see them and what they bring back to our community and always participate… bring it back to Bowling Green,” Dave Downing, the owner of YellowBerri, a company that’s worked with the band before, says.

He also mentions it’s exciting to see lead singer Matt Shultz back on his feet after a tumultuous year in 2023.

“When you look at their social and you saw what Matt posted the other day. It was really heartfelt. We all know… we go through battles, but it’s always nice to know you have a good community reaching out and supporting you, and that’s kind of what Bowling Green’s always been about,” Downing says.
