Popup Driver License Program helps Logan County residents
LOGAN COUNTY, KY.- The Kentucky Cabinet of Transportation is helping people get their IDs a little closer to home. People in Logan County who are in need of new identification or an updated Real ID are able to go to a pop-up event. The event offers real IDs that will be enforced starting on May 7th, 2025.
People will also have the opportunity to get IDs that will last up to 8 years for about $48.
Sarah Jackson, the Real I.D. Project manager shares the value of the Real ID cards and how they impact people. Jackson says, “There are groups of people, some people who are elderly. Some people don’t drive anymore, but they still need an ID card. People are very grateful, especially people who find it hard to get to a driver licensing regional office. “
If you are not able to sign up for the upcoming pop-up, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will offer another pop-up in Logan County this August. For more information on what to bring, visit https://drive.ky.gov/drivers/pages/popup-map.aspx.
