Warren County tire waste collection

WARREN COUNTY, KY.- A waste tire collection event has Warren County on a roll this week. Warren County Solid Waste is partnering with the Kentucky Division of Waste Management to help people dispose of the tires on their property.

Jenny Carr, the Environmental Scientist for the State of Kentucky tells us, not only is this a good resource for the community, it’s also safer for the environment. Jenny says, “Tires hold heat and water, they attract a lot of pests. Mosquitoes like to lay eggs in stagnant water. They’re also a haven for mice, snakes, and lots of disease-carrying animals. And so eradicating the tires also eradicates their habitats and it helps eliminate that problem. “

If you missed the drop off today, you still have a chance to drop off your unwanted tires on March 1st from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and March 2nd 8 a.m.- 12 p.m. It will be hosted at 999 Lauren Avery Drive.
