Allen County community mourns teen’s death
SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – The Allen County-Scottsville community is mourning the loss of one of their own.
Kaedon Price left a huge mark on his community, but was tragically taken at the age of 18.
Tonight, ACS remembered Kaedon Price and how he touched those around him.
Kaedon Price and his family were active members of New Vision Community Church, and he was a member of the ACS football team.
However, his biggest contribution was brightening the lives of those he met.
“The best thing I can say about Kaedon is he never came in the door without a smile. He never left without having made somebody laugh. And he was just that goofy, charming, good looking kid that… you couldn’t help but be in a good mood,” Kevin Griffith, the senior associate pastor at New Vision Community Church says.
He also says he loves how quickly the community rallied behind the Price family, but he hopes that tragedies like these aren’t the only time people come together.
“I pray that we do it more and not for instances such as this, but that we realize that unity goes beyond denominations, it goes beyond theology differences. It’s truly… when we come together, we are the church. So I hope we see more of it,” Griffith says.
News 40 spoke to Kaedon Price’s grandmother, who told us she’s very appreciative of the community’s support for her family during this tough time.
Allen County sheriff Brandon Ford says the incident around Price’s death is still under investigation as a possible drug overdose, but they are waiting on autopsy and toxicology results.
