JNM Kentucky Closure
GLASGOW KY.- Local Glasgow manufacturer JNM is moving its operations back to Canada. Ultimately letting go of 65 full-time employees.
The UAW strike played a part in the major impact on the business, and unfortunately, they couldn’t get through it. The company decided that it was best for JNM to move its operations from Glasgow. Despite all the negativity, the city of Glasgow has a more optimistic outlook.
Maureen Carpenter, the President and CEO of Barren Inc. shares how the difficult times are impacting the people in Glasgow. Maureen says, “It’s one of those things where it is disappointing, but it also bodes itself for new opportunities, and you know, we lost several jobs, but hopefully, we’ll bring something in that will create even more.”
The facility is partially leased by another company. However, the city is taking the proper steps to ensure that the building is being marketed to create new jobs as soon as possible.
