Rep. Guthrie: Cummings was a civil rights warrior

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Following the passing of Rep. Elijah Cummings, south central Kentucky Rep. Brett Guthrie released the following statement on the death of his colleague:

“I am deeply saddened by the death of my colleague Rep. Elijah Cummings. Rep. Cummings was a civil rights warrior and always worked hard for his constituents. I was proud to work across the aisle with him to introduce the Net Price Calculator Improvement Act with him earlier this year to increase the transparency of college costs. I am praying for his family and loved ones today,” said Guthrie.

Cummings died Thursday morning at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
