Barren County Schools shares about Teacher of the Year awards

BARREN COUNTY, Ky. – Every year, Barren County Schools staff and administration nominate dynamic teachers for the Teacher of the Year Award.

Recently, the district announced who was selected for each category. For teachers who go above and beyond for students inside and out of the classroom, working hard daily is just scratching the surface.

The teachers in Barren County continue to make a difference in students’ lives, and for that, they deserve to be recognized.

Scott Harper, the director of secondary instruction, assessment and technology for Barren County Schools, says, “The characteristics of those distinguished educators are the caring, the connectedness to their students and having that relationship. We can all think back to teachers that we had in school who made a real impact on us, maybe not just in a subject matter, but in our lives.”

The role that teachers play will prepare students for the future and prepare students with skills they wouldn’t get anywhere else.
