Bowling Green Rotary Club delivers shoes to students

BOWLING GREEN Ky. – Some local elementary school students received an unexpected gift from members of the Bowling Green Rotary Club.

The club made a stop at Warren Elementary to surprise students with brand new shoes.

Each grade level had its own table where students would look for the box with their name on it.

Each student received one pair of shoes as well as two pairs of socks to go with them.

The shoes were purchased from Shoe Carnival, and the Bowling Green Rotary Club is planning on making more stops at other local schools later this week.

Rotary Club member Tracey Hunt said the experience of giving back to kids in need is very rewarding.

“This is a special day. To see these faces on a lot of these kids were so excited to get their shoes and socks today, it’s not only fun to see that, but to also help put them on,” Hunt said.
