Man charged with attempted murder of a police officer after pursuit that started in Warren County
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- An Owensboro man is charged with the attempted murder of a police officer after a pursuit that originated in Warren County.
According to Kentucky State Police, Warren County sheriff’s deputies attempted to pull over Levi Lyons, 30, on I-165 Monday afternoon.
Authorities said Lyons fled at a high rate of speed.
Lyons wasn’t stopped until he reached Ohio County when authorities used a tire deflation device. Investigators said Lyons then used his vehicle to strike two marked Kentucky State Police cruisers that were pursuing him.
Lyons was eventually arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including attempted murder of a police officer, second-degree assault on police officers and first-degree wanton endangerment.
Lyons is lodged in the Ohio County Jail.
