News 40 Weather | This Cooldown Won't Last Long
A MUCH COOLER TREND
We came so close to tying Sunday’s record high of 90 set in 1907. Officially, we reached 89 at the Bowling Green Airport. After a cold front slipped through last night, temperatures are now much cooler than what we had on Sunday. We are starting in the 40’s and 50’s this morning with a brisk north wind at 10 to 20 mph. This makes it feel like it’s in the 30’s as you head out the door. Skies will gradually clear from northwest to southeast and bring back some sunshine with highs today around 60. Tonight will be partly cloudy and a bit chilly with a low of 38. It will be partly sunny Tuesday and a little warmer with a high in the mid 60’s. Temperatures will continue to climb into the 70’s on Wednesday with a slight chance of a passing shower. By Thursday, we could once again challenge a record high. Thursday’s record high is 87 set in 1910 and we are calling for a high of 85. Another potent cold front Thursday night will bring rain and a few thunderstorms, followed by another cool down for Friday with highs in the mid 60’s. The rest of the weekend looks sunny and cooler with Palm Sunday in the md 60’s.
