Fire destroys mobile home and barn in Hart County

MUNFORDVILLE, Ky.- A fast moving fire destroyed a mobile home and barn Saturday afternoon in Hart County’s Hardyville community. A portion of a corn field was also scorched.

Fire officials told WNKY that the fire broke out around 1 p.m. in the 1900 block of Fairview Church Pascal Road.

Officials said the wind caused the fire to move across Fairview Church Road, where it burned part of a neighboring corn field.

While the windy and dry conditions made the fire even worse, firefighters from Horse Cave, North Metcalfe and Hardyville were able to save three structures on the property.

No one was injured and the cause remains under investigation.

A burn ban remains in effect for Hart County.
