First ever Bowling Green Young Professionals Summit draws over 100 young professionals

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Bowling Green is one of the fastest growing cities in the state, and with that more and more young people are coming here to build their careers.

More than 100 young professionals attended the first every Bowling Green Young Professionals summit on Thursday.

It was a full day of networking, keynote speakers and panel discussions at the Knicely Conference Center.

Both BGYP members and potential members were invited to attend, with ages ranging from 21-40 years old.

BGYP is a Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce initiative, and it started as a way to encourage up and coming business leaders in the community.

The partnership services Vice President at the Chamber says the goal of the event was to help Bowling Green retain its young professionals.

“We need to help our young professionals flourish in their environment. We also want to retain them. Work force is such an important issue for our chamber partners. So, by having our young professionals here we’re hoping they develop relationships, but also gain some knowledge that will help them grow in their position. Retaining them is vital for our future,” said Maureen Carpenter.

BGYP  holds regular networking events, and if you’re interested in joining contact the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce.
