A new layer to the Bowling Green Harvest Festival
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Organizers are putting the finishing touches on this weekend’s harvest fest in Bowling Green and one group is especially excited about the festivities.
Around this time last year coincidentally, the manager of Mercadito Hispano organized a festival with Latino business owners to just get their name out into the community, well this year, the city is partnering with the Hispanic community to bring another layer to the harvest festival.
Jose Gonzalez told News 40 they’ve been working to make everything as accessible as possible. Even though the Day of The Dead is in early November, they’re tying it in with all the Halloween festivities that the harvest festival offers to reach as many people as they can.
He said they’ll offer face painting, games and a lot of food as well as sharing some of their culture and educating people on their upcoming holiday.
