Senator Rand Paul commemorates reopening of local business in Warren County
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Nearly 2 years later, local businesses are still continuing to recover after the tornadoes in December of 2021. A heavily hit area in Bowling Green, Magnolia Street, is soon to be home to several new small businesses.
Owners Maribeth & Ken Wilson have remodeled a house-like structure on the corner of Broadway Avenue and Magnolia Street.
This building was originally destroyed by the tornadoes. It will now be able to house multiple businesses.
Senator Rand Paul attended the re-opening on Tuesday. He says he’s excited to see the Wilsons get back on their feet.
“It’s amazing to see our community come together. All the people at the time who came out to help those who are in need, all the linesmen… I remember meeting with the linesmen right after. Just think about the sheer amount of jobs of getting all the lines back up and getting us back to running smoothly with electricity. Now here we are, a couple of years later and saying ‘Wow, we’re really getting back to normal.’ We’ve actually finished a project that’s taken a while,” he says.
The structure is set to host up to 4 different tenants.
