Drakes Creek Middle School is a Blue-Ribbon Award Recipient
Bowling Green, KY.- Drakes Creek Middle School, of Warren County Public Schools is celebrating a major achievement. The school received a national honor, the Blue-Ribbon Award. This year, 353 public schools received the award. That is less than 1% of schools across the nation. The award is based on academic achievements throughout the prior school year.
Director of Secondary Education for WCPS, Daryl Woods, says students are encouraged to use this award as motivation to continue the good work they’ve started. Woods adds that, “You put in long hours, and you work so hard, and it is really nice to be recognized for that. And, just to be affirmed that you are on the right track, and you’re doing the right things, and what you’re doing with school is causing students to learn, and increasing student achievements.”
Potter Gray Elementary, in the Bowling Green Independent School District was also named a Blue Ribbon School this year.
