We learned from experts, thanks to resources like 988, people have the chance to open up to someone who wants to listen.
If you’re dealing with experiences from the past or present: like drug use, sexual orientation loneliness, or if you just want to talk. There are resources available.
“Even if you’re not suicidal, its for someone who may be in crisis, someone who may need help with addiction issues. It can be a referral source, and it is imperative to ask the questions to people. Are you okay? How are you doing? Because there going to tell you if you ask and you’re genuine in your conversation with them,” says Melanie Watts the director of community engagement.
