Ayanna Morgan Vigil Service

BOWLING GREEN Ky. – Students and community members gather under Guthrie Bell Tower on WKU campus to honor their friend and classmate Ayanna Morgan who was murdered last month at the Muse Apartments.

Malik Jones is wanted in connection to the murder and remains at large. The WKU community comes together in order to heal and remember their classmate for who she was to them.

“It makes me happy that there are people who would like to come out and honor her. And, you know, that’s time. That’s energy. So we appreciate that. And it just makes me it’s makes me feel good that, you know, that there are other people that share the same regard of my daughter as we do.” Misha Baskerville, mother of Ayanna Morgan said.

There were multiple student groups present at the vigil, which was put on by the Student Government Association and Intercultural Student Engagement Center at WKU.

“It’s really a blessing for the university to be able to try to pour back in what has been emptied out for our family tonight. So it’s a blessing. Of course, it’s a sad occasion, but at the same time, anything that we can do as a university to assist with eliminating or some of the pain, we’re glad to be able to do that.” Martha Sales, dean of students said.
