Sen. Mitch McConnell stops in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell made a stop in Warren County Monday.

McConnell spoke at the Bluegrass Community Bankers Association’s annual conference at the Embassy Suites in the Hub.

He gave an update on the happenings in Washington and how they affect the Commonwealth and the nation.

With the recent wildfires in Hawaii and a tropical storm hitting the coast of California, McConnell mentioned a new supplement that could be heading towards these areas.

“In addition to approving a supplemental to help the Ukrainians continue to fight the Russians, we’ll be authorizing in the same bill in all likelihood a considerable increase for FEMA,” McConnell says.

McConnell also mentioned the new infrastructure bill that will provide $6 billion to the commonwealth, saying he thinks the state government will have a lot of extra money for crumbling infrastructure.
