Med Center Health hosts blood drive with American Red Cross

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The American Red Cross is hoping to fix their critical need for blood donations by hosting a blood drive today with Med Center Health.

The Red Cross is currently looking for B negative and O negative blood types, as they are the universal donors.

Red Cross staff want to make sure they have plenty of supply in case of an accident from 4th of July fireworks or other accidents.

“Right now, we’re just trying to make sure that all of our appointments are filled across the blood drives in the coming weeks. We get to this time of year with people traveling and out of town and family obligations. We just want to make sure that our blood supply is fully stocked and that we have every appointment filled to make sure that the blood is on the shelf should someone need it,” Jennifer Capps from the Red Cross of South Central Kentucky says.

There will be two more drives on Friday, July 7: one at the Holiday Inn University Plaza from 10:30 to 4:30 and another at the Bowling Green Police Department from 10-2.
