The dangers of decals on vehicles

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Before you decorate your vehicle with decals, you may want to think of the information that it gives to strangers.

Something as simple as a decal can tell a lot about a driver and their family, including where your kids go to school, where you like to spend time and even what kind of belongings you may have in your vehicle or house.

Bowling Green Police Department’s public information officer Ronnie Ward says, “If we become an interest to people in the public, they may try to find us on social media, and that turns into a fact of people figuring out who we are when they necessarily may not need to know who we are.”

Placing decals on your vehicle is not a bad thing, but rather something to be aware of. It is important to think about the information you are sharing before revealing too many personal details.
