Franklin seeing traffic issues

FRANKLIN, Ky. – The police are cracking down on traffic violations after several complaints about residential areas.

Speeding, running stop signs and stoplights are a few things Franklin Police Lieutenant Robbie Matthews said are going on at W. Cedar Street, North and South College street and Highway 1008.

Matthews said due to increasing population and KY 100 being closed coming in to Franklin from Russellville, it’s causing a lot of back up and people are in a hurry.

Matthews said the department chief has since told the rest of the force that they will be ramping up traffic details as these complaints roll in from the community on Facebook, to the mayor, the commissioners and the police chief.
