New art in Auburn’s park
AUBURN, Ky. – In the McCutchen Coke Municipal Park, the stage just got an upgrade.
Under the pavilion in the park, the stage that has supported bands over the years now has a splash of color behind it, courtesy of Auburn native artist, Jayne Constant.
Constant is a creative who dabbles in many forms but is probably most well known in our area for her face paint. Her business, Creative Control is centered on full face and body painting. Of course she can do other things as well but her heart lies with the art form we love to see at festivals and fairs (she’s even done face paint for wrestlers!).
Constant said it’s been in the works for two years now and has finally come to fruition in partnership with Auburn’s Tourism department, spending just a week out at the park and getting it ready in time for the next band to play. She said it was a special thing for her personally, reminiscing visits to the Bluegrass Jam over the years with her grandparents at that very stage.
The artist concluded her interview with saying that she’s happy to be part of the “renaissance” that Logan County is going through with more focus on local musicians and artists out there and can’t wait till her next Auburn project.
