Juneteenth celebration in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – At the Duck Shack this weekend, the BG Freedom Walkers are hosting their 4th annual Juneteenth celebration.

News 40 spoke briefly to Karika Nelson, the founder of the activist organization, who told us that this weekend has a lot going on. Friday night, they’re having their first Juneteenth pageant for the youth as well as some local vendors setting up for patrons, but the real festivities of the weekend start Saturday morning.

“We’re having a stand up comedy show at 7 Saturday night as well as our black market with over 50 vendors. We just want the community to come out, enjoy themselves and socialize.”
