BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-One successful businessman is giving back to the city that helped him build his company.

“We just made the decision that we really like to have this logo on the back of our trailers,” said Tahir Zukic.

Meet Tahir, also known as Taz, the owner of TAZ Trucking. After a conversation with the former Bowling Green Mayor Johnny Webb, he decided to advertise Bowling Green with a logo on the back of each of his trucks.

“We had a competition to come up with what we should put on the logos and what we ended up with is Bowling Green, Kentucky voted best place to live, TIME Magazine. And I said wow this is gonna be the best,” said Webb.

Webb remarks that Taz’s career story is incredible…

“He didn’t speak a word of English, his wife did speak some English,” said Webb.

Taz came to Bowling Green as a refugee from Bosnia in 2000.

He started working in a factory but when ends weren’t meeting, he got his license to drive a truck. A few years later he began his own business…which eventually became the empire it is today.

“At this time Bowling Green just gave us open arms and welcomed to Bowling Green the refugee people. Today I just think it’s good to give back something to this beautiful city,” said Zukic.

These stickers will be seen around the country.

“They can be seen in Maine, they can be seen in southern California, they can be seen in Washington State, Florida, Texas,” said Zukic.

Think about it…the logos are on 1,000 trucks that drive through 48 states.

“I’ve had people send me pictures from other states. People that I know, they’ll take a picture of their windshield from the inside of their car and send it to me,” said Webb.
