Beshear proclaims Feb KY Heart Month
American Heart Association & survivors join together for declaration
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Beshear joined forces with a team of heart health champions Thursday in a major heart health event for Kentucky.
Joined by doctors, heart condition survivors, and leaders from the American Heart Association, Beshear signed a proclamation declaring February as Heart Month in Kentucky.
There was also a live demonstration of CPR.
The American Heart Association wants you to show your support tomorrow from head to toe.
“Tomorrow [Friday] is National Wear Red day,” shared American Hart Association of Central & Eastern Kentucky Chair Elect Karen Harbin. “We encourage individuals and businesses all go red tomorrow. I see so many people have done that today, but let’s do that tomorrow, too!”
To cap off the event, Governor Beshear and his guests stepped outside to watch the Governor’s Mansion light up red in recognition of the occasion.
