Missing Edmonson County teen found safe; woman arrested
BROWNSVILLE, Ky.- A teenager who had been reported missing in Edmonson County last Monday was found safe Wednesday and a woman is now behind bars.
According to the Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office, Zachery Shephard was found unharmed at a relative’s home. Authorities said the relative returned home and found Shephard inside.
While searching for the teenager earlier in the day, investigators received a tip that he had been at the Edmonson County Library.
While searching through video surveillance from the library, deputies said a clip showed Shephard entering a vehicle as a passenger and the vehicle drove away.
The driver was identified as Crystal Shepherd, 38, of Bowling Green. Authorities caught up with her at a home in Warren County, where she was arrested.
Crystal Shephard was charged with felony custodial interference and disorderly conduct.
She was lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail.
