Traffic stop ends in drug arrest
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Sunday night traffic stop resulted in a felony drug arrest.
At about 8:34 p.m. Kentucky State Police Trooper Aaron Harris conducted a traffic stop near the 28 mile marker of Interstate 65 southbound where he came into contact with Barry Adams, 35, of Louisville, Ky., according to a release from KSP.
Harris found Adams in possession of a handgun, 50 hydrocodone pills, 2 grams of suspected cocaine and other drug paraphernalia items. Police seized $3,313 in cash, according to the release.
Adams was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, second or more offense (less than 4 grams of cocaine); first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (drug unspecified); possession of a handgun by a convicted felon; operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol first offense; possession of drug paraphernalia and other traffic offenses.
He was lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail.
