Breeders show Black Herefords at WKU Ag Center
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – At the WKU Agriculture Center, a special breed of cow is being presented.
This is the American Black Hereford Association Junior Nationals, and the cows you see here are known as Black Hereford cows. They are crossbred from the Red Angus and the Red Herford breed of cows. The benefit is that they’re known to produce a more desired type of meat. For this reason, there is a growing demand for the black-hided cattle.
The Black Hereford Association moved the organization right here in Kentucky three years ago, and Kentucky has become the #2 state for Black Hereford producers.
The American Black Hereford Junior Nationals will have the official presentation and show on Saturday, June 29 at 8 a.m.
