Bowling Green Independent District making school safe

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – With school right around the corner, Bowling Green Independent School District is making efforts to ensure that their buildings are a safe space for students this school year.

BGISD has expanded their community partnerships to make counseling and therapy more accessible to as many students as possible. Where in the first year of their partnership with Life Skills, only 3 therapists were available to the district, the number has now been increased to 5. BGISD has also worked with Warren County Sheriff’s Office to provide extra security and instill good relations between children and law enforcement in the area. Two new resource officers from the sheriff’s office will be in the school system with one posted at Bowling Green Jr. High, and another floating between their 5 elementary schools.

Both Superintendent Gary Fields and Sheriff Brett Hightower say they are both very excited to be able to work together for the good of the community and the students.
