Glasgow Police Chief leaves office Thursday
GLASGOW, Ky.- It’s the end of an era in Glasgow.
The city’s police chief is officially stepping down and entering retirement.
Chief Guy Howie’s official last day is Thursday.
Howie, who has been chief of police since October 2015, is planning to spend more time with his grandchildren after nearly four decades in law enforcement.
The search is now on for Howie’s replacement.
Glasgow Mayor Harold Armstrong is going through applications, with interviews scheduled for next week.
Armstrong told WNKY that seven people have applied and it is a nationwide search.
The mayor is expected to choose the next chief sometime in the next couple of weeks.
