BRAWA seeking help for puppy’s recovery

GLASGOW, Ky.- The Barren River Animal Welfare Association (BRAWA) is asking for the public’s help funding a medical procedure for a puppy discovered in a ditch.

BRAWA volunteers say the dog, Sebastian, was found with a severe leg injury and may have been struck by a vehicle or even tossed.

According to a post on the BRAWA Facebook page, the staff was faced with the difficult decision of either putting the dog down, amputating the leg or have the dog go under the knife.

Recently, the puppy underwent surgery in Louisville to repair a fractured femur and tibia. The surgery cost $4,000.

Sebastian is now recovering and is scheduled for a follow-up appointment on Monday.
