Atmos Energy is paying local customer’s bills with energy assistance blitz

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Residents in the community are getting a helping hand from Atmos Energy during their energy assistance blitz.

This is where customers of Atmos Energy can get their bills paid off and it’s not income based.

Community Action of Southern Kentucky is hosting this at 200 East 4th street until 4:00 p.m.

Atmos Energy is offering to pay current and past due charges, bad debt, reconnection fees and deposits.

This is possible due to a substantial amount of funds provided by the Share the Warmth program.

Share the Warmth allows customers to donate money outside of paying their bill to give during an energy assistance blitz.

As of 9:30 this morning, 72 people had their bills taken care of.

Energy assistance blitzes happen all over the country.

Janell Igoe, an Atmos Energy Specialist, says the goal is to alleviate the stress families often feel paying their bills.

Here is a list of the requirements to receive this assistance:

You must be an Atmos Energy residential customer and your bill must be in your name.

Also, be sure to bring a copy of your last bill and or your account number.

Lastly, you won’t receive assistance if you’ve received three Share the Warmth pledges in the past year.
