Outdoor Fitness Center at Preston Miller Park now available to use for free
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Bowling Green Parks and Recreation spent the morning unveiling a unique addition to Preston Miller Park.
The Preston Miller Outdoor Fitness Center is now available and free to the public.
The Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce, Parks and Rec and Mayor Bruce Wilkerson cut the ribbon on the outdoor gym Wednesday morning.
It features 18 pieces of exercise equipment along with handicap accessible equipment.
The fitness area will provide full body workout experiences including upper body, lower body and cardiovascular.
The $250,000 project came from a grant the city received from the Kentucky Beverage Association.
The city also received $55,000 from the American Beverage Foundation for a Healthy America.
This project makes the park rarer than most.
The 50 by 60 square foot outdoor gym is located at 2303 Tomblinson Way.
Other features include a shade canopy, 10 by 10 square foot area for stretching and coolers with free beverages.
