Bowling Green Junior High welcomes new principal

BOWLING GREEN Ky.-Bowling Green Junior High School welcomed its brand-new principal Wednesday.

Students gathered as they were introduced to new principal, Robert Lightning. He is taking over for Cinny West, who served in the position for seven years.

Prior to stepping into the new role, Lightning served as a teacher at Parker-Bennett-Curry for 10 years. While there, he was primarily a fifth-grade science and math teacher.

He then served as assistant principal of Todd County Middle School for two years before returning to Bowling Green.

Lightning said he’s very excited to start working with the students, and to make an impact on the school.

“I’m super excited about having the opportunity to work with this staff and the students to carry out the mission of our district, which is to make sure we’re providing the students here in the Bowling Green Independent School System the best educational experience as possible,” Lightning said.

Lighting will officially begin as the Bowling Green Junior High principal July 1.
