Bowling Green woman survives fiery car crash

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- A 21-year-old woman from Bowling Green is lucky to be alive after her vehicle went up in flames after a crash.

It happened Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Ashley Key, was traveling west on Richpond Rockfield Road when she dropped off the right shoulder of the roadway, causing her to over-correct and leave the roadway. Key then struck a tree, causing the vehicle to ignite.

Deputies say Key managed to free herself from the vehicle.

Key told deputies she was unable to walk and was taken to an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
