Isenbarger Tabbed with Weekly Honor in Second Consecutive Week

DALLAS – In her second meet of the season, WKU Track & Field’s senior high jumper Katie Isenbarger broke her own record once again and was named the Conference USA Female Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

Isenbarger claimed first place in the high jump after clearing 6′ even. It’s the second consecutive week that she’s broken the program record that she previously owned. The Zionsville, Ind., native now holds four of the top five indoor marks in school history.

The 6′ clearance has her tied for eighth in the nation in the indoor standings and first in C-USA by an inch and a half. It’s the highest mark she’s cleared across indoor and outdoor collegiate competition. It’s one inch off her best jump from high school of 6-1.

This is WKU’s third weekly honor of the indoor season as Savannah Heckman earned the track honor for the opening weekend. This is Isenbarger’s second track & field honor of the calendar year, but third weekly award overall as she was named volleyball’s Defensive Player of the Week on October 25.
