88-year-old woman dies after crash in Logan County
RUSSELLVILLE, Ky.- An 88-year-old woman has died after suffering injuries from a vehicle crash that occurred Thursday morning in Logan County.
According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened just after 9 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 68/80 East and Duncan Chapel Road.
Authorities said the 88-year-old woman, Emma Hansford, of Auburn, drove into the path of another vehicle.
A passenger in the other vehicle, Sheri Sowards, 50, of Lewisburg, suffered minor injuries.
According to investigators, Hansford was originally taken to the Medical Center at Bowling Green, but later died while en route to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
