7th annual Snow Flurry Scurry planned at Lost River Cave
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The 7th annual Snow Flurry Scurry 5K at Lost River Cave is here, and it’s looking a little different this year.
From last Sunday to this Saturday, participants could run the race virtually at any time they chose. There were two ways you could do it- run the race route at the cave or run the 5k in your own neighborhood or favorite running track.
The funds from the race help support the park, which is free to visitors.
Usually there’s around 500 runners, but it’s a bit less this year due to COVID. Chad Singer, operations manager for Lost River Cave, said it’s a good way to get people outside and moving during the pandemic, and that the race has so many benefits.
“Nature’s very important, and this event has all sorts of great little spinoffs to it. Gets people outside, helps maintain our environment here, and it continues to help other programs that gets more kids outside too which is very important,” said Singer.
Lost River Cave will be doing a Facebook live on Saturday to announce the award winners of the race.
