4 more counties certified as ‘Recovery Ready Communities,’ including Warren County

FRANKFORT, Ky. – During Thursday’s Team Kentucky Update, Gov. Andy Beshear certified four counties, including Warren County, as Recovery Ready Communities.

According to the governor’s office, more than 219,000 Kentuckians will be given better access to addiction treatment and recovery services.

The governor says too many families know the pain of losing someone to addiction, and these designations help ensure every Kentuckian can get the support they need.

Overdose deaths in Kentucky decreased for the third year in a row, with a 30% drop in deaths last year.

Local leaders in all four counties say the certification is a major step toward reducing stigma and supporting long-term recovery.

The governor’s office further states Warren County’s almost 148,000 residents benefit from a country-level office of drug control policy serving the Barren River Area Development District and as an active ASAP Board that funds interventions within the county.

In addition, Lifeskills, Inc. partners with stakeholders across the county, such as the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and the Salvation Army, to operate a Quick Response Team to provide resources to the homeless and those fighting addiction.
