33rd annual Run for Sight raises $10,000
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-Runners and walkers raced up their shoes and hit the roads for the 33rd annual Run for Sight by the Bowling Green Noon Lions Club.
Annually held on labor day, over 360 participants showed up in support, almost double from last year.
Participants had the option to choose between a 5k, 2 mile fun walk, or the kids 1 mile bubble run.
They’ve raised over $10,000 dollars this year which will go to scholarships, the Salvation Army, and the Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation for eye surgeries.
“It’s just important because so many people with vision can do so much more,” said BG Noon Lions Club Race Chair Pam Elrod.
The run is held yearly at Covington Park in Bowling Green.
