3 dead, including 2 Bowling Green residents, in multi-vehicle crash

HARDIN COUNTY, Ky. – Three people, including a man and a woman from Bowling Green, are dead following a weekend crash in Hardin County.

According to a release by detective Ally Cook of the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched around 5:10 p.m. Saturday to the westbound area of the Bluegrass Parkway for a motor vehicle collision with entrapment.

Deputies say the first vehicle struck the second vehicle in the eastbound lane, lost control, exited the roadway to the left and crossed the median before going airborne and hitting a third vehicle head on in the westbound lane.

According to authorities, the third vehicle then hit a fourth vehicle on the front passenger side.

An occupant of the first vehicle, Shirley Fuqua, 30, of Elizabethtown was pronounced dead on scene.

The operator and passenger, Leslie Parson, 58, and William Parson, 55, both of Bowling Green, were also pronounced dead on scene.

The drivers of the second and fourth vehicles were treated for non-life threatening injuries, according to authorities.

The incident remains under investigation.
