2nd annual Railpark Rendezvous raises thousands for historic spot

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-The Historic Railpark and Train museum raised over $30,000 tonight at their 2nd annual Railpark Rendezvous.

All of the money goes back into preserving the building and the railcars.

The theme of tonight was ‘Circus, Circus’, because they unveiled a new circus train exhibit on the second floor. When you walk inside the exhibit you’ll see a mural hand painted by a local artist out of Glasgow.

Attendees of the event got to see a live show of circus performers including a tall woman, fire eating, a contortionist, acrobats and much more.

“It’s so important to preserve that history, teach our young people. I have an 11-year-old daughter and she thinks this is just the neatest place and that makes me so happy. We want everyone to feel like they have ownership in this place,” said executive director Jamie Johnson.

The circus train exhibit opens to the rest of the public tomorrow during normal museum hours.
