254 student research, creative projects to be honored at WKU’s Student Scholar Showcase

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – On April 11, WKU Student Scholar showcase will display 254 undergraduate and graduate research and creative activity projects, which includes 157 poster/exhibits and 97 oral presentations.
This conference will contain a wide range of topics with student participants from 34 departments and programs at WKU, demonstratingacademic and creative excellence.
As of 1970, the Student Scholar Showcase has been a crucial part for student research and highlighting their academic achievements. This year will recognize 56 years of WKU having a space for students to show a wide range of their projects.
The event will take place at Downing Student Union (DSU), and student presentations will follow the schedule of:
● Morning Session I: 9–10 a.m.
● Morning Session II: 10:15–11:15 a.m.
● Lunch Break (with Big Red & Photo Booth): 11:15 a.m.–12:15 p.m.
● Afternoon Session: 12:30–1:30 p.m.
The first and second floors of DSU will showcase the poster presentations while on the second and third floor in specific rooms will showcase the oral presentations and performances.
All presentations and performances are free and open to the public.
Chair of the Showcase Council, Dr. Jenni Redifer says, “We are excited for our student researchers and scholars to share their work at the Student Scholar Showcase. The Showcase is a celebration, and we invite all campus and local community members to attend,”.
Past participants have stated that the showcase allowed them to enhance their presentation skills, build confidence while also opening doors to future opportunities.
The Showcase encourages community members, staff and students to attend the event and experience innovative and creative presentations. This highlights WKU’s commitment to academic excellence and student success.
