2026 Football Frenzy Preview: Warren East Raiders

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Our first Football Frenzy preview, presented by Bowling Green Fireplace & Grill, is on the Warren East High School Raiders who welcome Jason Foley into the program as its new head coach.

“Anytime you get kids to believe in you and believe in your staff and believe in the things that you’re doing, you’re going to get more out of them,” Foley said. “Obviously we want to win and we’re competitive, but we also want them to know that we care about them and we want them to be successful even beyond football.”

It’s a new chapter in the books of Raider football as Foley takes over the team coming from a winning tenure at Southwestern High School.

Already, he’s lifted the vibes of his guys, motivating them for a bounce back 2026 season.

“I feel like we’re going to be really, really fun to watch this year. We have multiple new formations, and we have hunger that we haven’t had in a while,” senior linebacker Sam Tunks said. “We really have hunger this year, and we cannot wait to get on the field.”

There’s no secret the squad struggled last year, winning just two games, which marks the lowest East has achieved in 10 seasons.

But instead of being stuck in the past, these Raiders are turning the page with urgency to turn things around.

“What pushes me is just to know that we can have the biggest comeback in Warren East history,” senior lineman Laife Cossel said. “Just to go from a team that wasn’t that great to probably one of the best teams in our division.”

“If y’all think we’re still down, just come watch our games this year. We’re going to do a whole lot better than last year,” junior running back/linebacker Zae McMillian.

Relentless is the mindset the team has adopted entering this season, and using that to grow in the weight room, in the locker room and on the field is allowing Coach Foley to get maximum effort out of his guys.

“I’ve just really enjoyed working with these kids. They’re hungry, they work hard, they’re very coachable right now and we’re just trying to take it day by day,” Foley said. “[We’re] trying to get a little bit better every day in the process and trying to build something special.”

Warren East is scheduled to start the season on August 21 in the J. Allen Builders Bowl against the Ohio County Eagles.
