2025 Aviation Summer Camps registration opens for local airport

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green-Warren County Regional Airport will be hosting the annual Aviation Summer Camps in conjunction with the Aviation Museum of Kentucky.

This will last from July 7 through July 10, according to a release by the airport.

This year, there will be two camps – the Jim and Jan Bohannon Aviation Summer Camp from July 7 through July 8 for ages 10-17 and the Larry and Mona Beam Aviation Summer Camp from July 9 through July 10 for ages 10 through adults.

The Jim and Jan Bohannon Camp has 11 available spots for registration, while the Larry and Mona Beam Camp has 18 spots open for registration.

Students will take part in learning aircraft instruments, engine and aircraft design, use of aeronautical maps for navigation, flight planning, weather, NASA space, aviation careers, practicing take offs and landings with a flight simulator and assist in flying a real airplane with an FAA certified flight instructor from Flywell Aviation.

Campers will also go to the Aviation Heritage Park and Museum for a tour.
